This tour is for anyone who wants to experience what it’s like to go on a winter expedition above the Arctic Circle.
The tour begins with an introduction to snowshoes followed by a snowshoe hike to a designated rest area for the day. There you will learn how to make shelter from the weather in a mountain environment, cook food and make warm beverages at an outdoor kitchen, and gain knowledge about how to respect and protect the Swedish Right of Public Access during your stay in nature. Your guide will instruct and help you during every step of the tour.
After lunch, you will restore the rest area together as you found it before it’s time to put on your snowshoes and head back.
You do not need any previous experience of outdoor life or snowshoeing on this tour, the only requirement is that you should be able to walk at a walking pace without assistance for 2 km to manage the snowshoe hike.
You need to dress warm and bring a backpack that can hold reinforcements, such as a fleece sweater or down jacket, extra gloves are also a good idea to bring.
